New iPads To Be Unveiled At Apple's September Event

We are already certain that Apple are going to introduce two new iPhones at their September 10th event, but there is a new report that is suggesting that Apple will also unveil new iPads at this event too. We know that they are going to bring out the new iPhone 5S and a budget iPhone dubbed the iPhone 5C, but there are rumors of the iPad 5 and a second generation iPad mini too.

A report from Bloomberg states that we could see Apple unveiling some new iPads at the event too. The iPad 5 is expected to borrow the same form factor that has made the iPad mini such a winner, with thinner bezels allowing the iPad to be brought down to size. The second generation iPad mini might incorporate a retina display which was the main gripe that most consumers had with this device.

Bloomberg didn't explicitly state that the iPads would definitely be introduced in September and we could see Apple holding off until October to release them. Last year we had the iPhone 5 released in September and the iPad 4 was released the following month. With two iPhones set to be released this time around, it could be a bit too much for Apple to announce everything in the one go.

So there you have it, the iPad 5 and the iPad mini 2 could possibly be unveiled next month. Of course we don't know this for certain yet but if we do get any further clarification we will be sure to let you know.

OpenJailbreak Is Now Available To Everyone

If you have been missing all the news about jailbreaks and updates from the jailbreak community, we have great news for you today. There is a new website that has opened to the public that aims to make the collaboration of jailbreak creators an easier process. OpenJailbreak.org has been created by prolific jailbreak creator Joshua Hill or P0sixninja. He has been responsible for plenty of jailbreaks over the years and he trying to make the jailbreak community into something more cohesive than ever before.

Joshua spoke at teh WWJC event and explained that he believes there are five different types of jailbreak users; average users, fanboys, developers, security researchers and jailbreak creators. OpenJailbreak.org is aimed at the last three as well as anyone who want to learn more about how jailbreaks are created from the ground up. The aim of this website is to have one centra space where all jailbreak development can have a home. This will make it easier for everyone concerned to manage the code required to make the jailbreak happen.

In the long term, Joshua hopes that the site, as well as offshoot projects, will be able to keep jailbreaking sustainable for many years to come. OpenJailbreak.org is not a jailbreak. At the moment, jailbreak developers are often spread around the world and are left to make their own way, creating the jailbreaking exploits that we all use to hack our iOS device. These developers do often band together to form groups but it is not as organized as it could be. OpenJailbreak aims to make collaboration easier by offering a central repository for jailbreaking code that is open to everyone.

The ultimate aim of the website is to help make an iOS 7 jailbreak available as soon as possible. Apple's latest version of their OS is only a matter of weeks away and as soon as it is released, there will be calls for a jailbreak. Screenshots have already emerged of what appears to be a jailbreak injected onto an iOS 7 powered device but as we all know, that does't necessarily mean anything at the moment. We will have to wait for an iOS 7 jailbreak and hopefully OpenJailbreak is going to make this easier. To learn more about this, why not visit the website today.

How iOS 7 Is Shaping Up After 6 Betas

Apple will be holding a special event on the 10th of September this years and it is expected that they will release the iPhone 5S can 5C as well as some other exciting products. The nature of this event is likely to focus on iOS devices and it is almost guaranteed that we will see the official release of iOS 7 too.

We have now gone through 6 beta iterations of iOS 7 and it is now safe enough to pass a bit of judgement on it. IOS 7 is a software that is not aimed at people who are upgrading, it is aimed at people who are adopting. Apple is trying to ensure their next generation of consumers by creating a more modern, fresh and fun to use operating system. It is clear that that most of the changes incorporated into iOS 7 are there for the long term and it really is good to see Apple planning ahead. Things such as Control Center makes this iOS more pleasurable to use.

The user interface has also seen some changes. The design has been changed and again this is focused on new customers. Other interface changes such as replacing skeuomorphics with Gaussian blurs and gradients seem to work well and we like this. All of us here are fans of the new iOS 7 and we believe that the changes work for the best. Certain very useful changes such as the Control Center integration and AirDrop functionality are great and we can't wait to see how the public reacts to the changes when iOS 7 is officially released next month.

Leaked Images Show Gold iPhone 5S

There have been rumors that Apple plans to release a gold/champagne colored iPhone 5S and although we have to wait for the official announcement, it looks like this could be true. There has been a lot of evidence to back this up including leaded shell photos. More images of the shell of the device have emerged directly from Apple's supply chain and as suspected, it is based heavily on the white and silver variant of the iPhone 5, with most of the silver area in gold instead.

Just as the iPhone 4 went to 4S, the iPhone 5S is expected to remain virtually the same, with the main exception being the gold color option. The images that were published by Sonny Dickson show off the back of the champagne device and whilst many consumers seem divided in their opinion, we will have to wait and see how this new color fairs in the market.

As well are being made available in three colors, the iPhone 5S will have an improved processor, a 12 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button. It is also looking more likely that there will be a 128GB storage option for those who need more space.

The unveiling for the new iPhone 5S is expected to be the 10th of September and this will also be the date for the iPhone 5C, a cheaper handset sporting a polycarbonate finish. This budget iPhone is set to release in a range of colors and is set to help Apple expand their reach in developing markets.

We can't wait to see how the dual launch goes and we will of course be keeping everyone updated with any information we receive prior to and during the actual event.

YouTube 2.0 For iOS Released

Just the other day, Google announced a new YouTube for Android app that packed some great new features. 24 hours later, YouTube 2.0 for iOS was released and it brings with it the same feature list. This new version of YouTube for iOS looks and feels very much like the Google+ app and should prove very popular with users.

Along with a new icon, Google has brought multitasking to YouTube. This means that you can now minimize what you are watching to a little window at the bottom of the screen and search for other things at the same time. This is a feature that has been on the wishlist for many users for quite some time so it is great to see that it is finally a reality.

This app also features extended support for enhanced Tvs and Google's own Chromecast dongle is also included with this latest update. This makes it easier than ever to get your YouTube videos off your iPhone and onto the big screen. Whilst you could do this with AirPlay before, this improvement is still very welcome.

Another great feature that has been included is the ability to search for and then watch playlists with a play all button that allows back to back viewing of all the videos in the playlist. Google has also announced that they are working on improving their HTML 5 Web app which is the way most people watch their YouTube content.

The updated YouTube app for iOS is now available in the app store so be sure to download it and let us know what you think.

Apple Releases iTunes 11.0.5, Seeds iTunes 11.1 Beta 2

Apple released two versions of iTunes just the other day. The first one is the final public version of iTunes 11.0.5 and the other is iTunes 11.1 beta 2 which is for developers only. The first release, iTunes 11.0.5, is a minor release which fixes the issue with iTunes in the Cloud that many were experiencing. The second release is beta 2 for iTunes 11.1 which is for developers only and features the same fix and includes the new iTunes radio.

The first beta version of iTunes 11.1 was released at the end of last month and brought with it iTunes radio for Mac OS X users. This allows users in the US to discover great new music and to work it requires OS X 10.7 or later. This latest beta is likely going to be the last build before the public seed which Apple will release along with iOS 7 next month. Apple is rumored to be holding an event on the 10th of September to announce their new iPhone.

You can now download iTunes 11.0.5 for both Windows and Mac. The iTunes 11.1 beta 2 release can only be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center and you will need to be a registered member in order to get your hands on any of the iTunes, iOS, OS X or Safari betas. Today we have the release of iOS 7 beta 6 available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Like all beta versions, this is a developer only release and in order to test it out you much have an Apple developers account.

The first beta release of iOS 7 met with a lot of criticism because it didn't support the iPad but subsequent released have been much better. This latest iOS 7 beta 6 release shows that Apple have continued to strive to get the firmware ready for release and it includes the usual array of bug fixes and general performance enhancements. There have been a few very minor tweaks to the interface too.

We can see that iOS 7, aside from the alterations to the UI elements, is going to bring plenty of enhanced functionality also. There have been improvements to core apps like Maps and Safari and it looks like Apple have paid attention to some of the complaints of long time jailbreakers too by finally relaing the limitations beset on the folders that first arrived with iOS 4. The Control Center also brings SBSettings-like toggles which is great to see.

If you are signed up to the Developer Program, you can grab iOS 7 beta 6 using the usual mediums. Apple To Unveil Next iPhone At An Event On September 10th

It is almost official, Apple is to unveil their next generation iPhone at an event on Tuesday, September 10th. This news comes from WSJ's AllThingsD which has a great track record of accurately reporting such events. According to ATD, Apple is expected to unveil its next iPhone at a special event on September 10th. The launch comes at an important time for Apple, which continues to make a lot of money from the iPhone but has seen its global market share dip amid a growing wave of lower-cost Android devices as well as an intense battle with archrival Samsung.

During this upcoming event, it is expected that Apple will unveil a spec-bumped version of the iPhone 5 which is rumored to be the iPhone 5S. This will reportedly feature a 12 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, higher resolution screen, fingerprint sensor, faster processor and more. Also planned during this event is the unveiling of a budget friendly model being dubbed the iPhone 5C which is being developed for the lower-end market.

The final public version of iOS 7 will also likely make its debut at this event. AllThingsD's report doesn't mention anything about the iPads which is anything means that Apple will probably hold a separate event in October or November to release the next generation iPads. It is all coming together and it looks like we have some great releases to look forward to in the coming months.

The iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C Compared

It has come to that time of year again when all talk and rumors are about the new iPhone that is about to be released. This year, however, things are a little different as we are about to see the release of two iPhones. One of these, the iPhone 5C, is a low cost or budget iPhone. Vietnamese website Tinhte, who are fairly accurate when it comes to legitimate leaks of Apple products, have gotten their hands on mockups of both the iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S and have released images of both of these devices side by side.

We had a look at these images and we can see the comparisons between the two handsets. While both of these smartphones are designed by the Cupertino company, they are built to serve very different purposes and the materials used and general build quality appear to differ greatly. By adding the iPhone 5 to this comparison, we can see the clear similarities between what are likely to be Apple's three main devices later on this year. The headphone jack is situated along the bottom, while each also includes the new lightning dock connector in the center flanked by different speaker holes.

In terms of design, the iPhone 5S is expected to be similar to the current iPhone 5 and these images seem to confirm this. We are expecting a few hardware tweaks including a faster new processor and perhaps a 12 megapixel camera. The iPhone 5C thanks to its polycarbonate finish does look decidedly cheaper than the two higher end models, but that is not to say it doesn't still offer a stylish package. It still looks very cool and should be a big hit with budget conscious consumers.

With iOS 7 now at beta 5, it won't be long before we see these devices at their official launch. Stay tuned to our blog and we will keep you updated as more information arrives.

Leaked Photos Of iPhone 5S Show More Possible Color Options

There has been so much talk of late on the so-called budget iPhone 5C that it can be easy to forget that we are also expecting Apple to release a new flagship handset later this year. In the latest reports about this new iPhone 5S, it has emerged that Apple could also release this device in a champagne color.

The seventh generation iPhone is just like the six releases before it and a guarded secret. This of course hasn't stopped various alleged details from being release around the internet. We first heard of this champagne color rumor back in June and with the black and white line up having grown a little tiresome with some people a little drop of champagne could be just the thing Apple needs to liven things up again.

The champagne color rumor has come to light again because a bunch of apparent components for the iPhone 5S were leaked which included the volume buttons and silent/vibrate toggle. The low cost iPhone which is being dubbed the iPhone 5C is due to release in a multitude of colors right from the word go and it would be great to see owners of the flagship model also being offer a little variety.

With the cheaper iPhone 5C being offered in five different colors and the iPhone 5S in three different colors, consumers will be spoiled for choice. With big changes coming in iOS 7 and new colors being added to the iPhone line up, it would see that Apple is in a period of transition and we are sure that consumers will be delighted with the new range of choice they are being offered.

Download iOS 7 Beta 5 For iPhone 5, 4S, iPad and iPod Touch Now

After the security breach in Apple's developer site, things were a little up in the air with regards to iOS 7 betas. We saw iOS 7 beta 4 make an appearance a week later than expected but now the fifth beta is here. Changes for this beta include the usual array of bug fixes and performance enhancements which we will explain below.

The beta stage of any software always generates a lot of interest and iOS 7 is no different. In fact, it has gotten more attention than any of its predecessors. Not all the changes to iOS 7 have been aesthetic and so far we have seen plenty of alterations and improvements to general functionality. Many of the long standing gripes within the OS have also been addressed. The lack of a basic set of toggles for easy management of settings has commonly been quoted by many as the primary reason for wanting a jailbreak so badly and now that this has been rectified with Control Center, the SBSettings Cydia tweak seems redundant.

Other key changes have included the expansion of the folder system that was first introduced with iOS 4 and with iOS 7 promises a better all round experience for everyone. All these new beta bring their own features and we cannot wait to see iOS 7 released in all its glory which will presumably happen alongside the next iPhone.

If you are a registered developer and you want to get started with iOS 7 beta 5, you can do it the usual way. If you haven't tried it yet and want to see what all the fuss is about, you will need to sign up for a developer account and take it from there.

How To Download iOS 7 Beta 4

In this blog post, we want to tell you how to legitimately download iOS 7 beta 4 and installl it on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. This latest beta release of iOS 7 was made available last week after the recent security breach of Apple's iOS Development Center. This meant that this update was a week later than was expected.

There are a few ways that you can download iOS 7 beta 4 on your iPhone or other idevice so we will go through each one quickly and a few changes that iOS 7 beta 4 has brought with it. If you are a registered developer and you have beta 3 or any previous iOS 7 beta build installed on your device, performing an OTA update is very easy. All you have to do is go to the Settings app on your device and then select General and go to the Software Update section. The beta 4 update should be there waiting for your approval to install it.

If you are new to the iOS development scene and you are running a version of iOS on your device that is prior to iOS 7 beta, you might want to register yourself as a developer and register your device with Apple for deploying pre-release software. Then all you have to do is download and install iOS 7 beta 4 on your device. If you are already registered with Apple as a developer then all you have to do is download the .dmg file that is tailored to your iOS device and install it using iTunes on your PC or Mac.

As you are aware, iOS 7 is not available for older idevices so be sure that you check compatibility before downloading anything. Since the release of iOS 7, specifically beta 2, every beta that has followed has brought nothing more than minor cosmetic changes and under the hood performance enhancements and bug fixes. Beta 4 is no different and does not bring many changes except for minor UI tweaks and a significant performance boost.

Our experience with iOS 7 beta 4 on the iPhone 5 has been very positive and iOS 7 is definitely showing some great signs of improvement. We can't wait for the official release of iOS 7 in the fall.

Apple Are Testing A New iPad Mini With A6 Processor But No Retina Display

We all know that when it comes to pre-release version of iOS there is generally no stone left unturned by those that love ripping through the internals to see what they can find. The latest iOS 7 beta SDK release is no different. This time though a keen eyed developed has spotted that Apple is testing out an enhanced iPad mini and this evidence was discovered deep inside a hidden file in the SDK.

This file lists all the Apple mobile devices that are capable of supporting the latest firmware version which is iOS 7. Additional informaiton found within the iOS 7 firmware seems to backup the existence of three new iPad mini devices and the model numbers given are iPad2,8, iPad2,9 and iPad2,10. For those who prefer internal talk, these are referenced as J75, J76 and J77. The iPad2,8 model is on teh s518950x platform which refers to the current generation A6 processor that can be found in the iPhone 5. The existence of a minature iPad with a bumped up processor spec will definitely bring a smile to plenty of faces.

It is great news that Apple is testion out iPad mini models with faster processing capabilities but the internal files also bring with them some sad news and that is the lack of any reference to higher resolution graphical assesets which indicates that none of these iPad models have retina display. An additional set of files has to be added to apps for retina capable devices all of which are sppended with @2x to allow iOS to differentiate between the different image sizes. These references are missing from the exposed information.

It is worth pointing out, that Apple is consistently testing out different specification of their publicly available product and very few of these actually make it into the hands of the end user. We did have reports early this year that the retina iPad mini wouldn't be made available until 2014 and today's report seems to confirm this.
