Iphone 5 Untethered Jailbreak For iOS 6 Update

Since the launch of iOS 6 and the iPhone 5 there have been so many people waiting on an untethered jailbreak. There will also be plenty of people who will have received an iPhone 5 or other new iOS device for Christmas and they too will also be asking whether there is any untethered iOS 6 jailbreak available.

It probably comes as no surprise that the iOS community have grown restless with the lack of a jailbreak for iOS 6 and the trouble is that once you become accustomed to using a jailbroken device with all the tweaks that are available, a stock device just doesn't feel right. The casual swipe to open SBSettings, having a Notification Center on the lock screen, enhanced messaging functions or multitasking switchers are just some of the things that many iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users have been missing since upgrading to iOS 6.

Apple have really stepped up their game with iOS 6 and this release is proving to be a very tough nut for the jailbreak community to crack. To make things even worse, i0n1c believes that the upcoming iOS 6.1 is going to be even more tough to exploit. All is not lost though and it seems like Planetbeing is still working on putting all the pieces of the puzzle together. MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev team has warned against updating to iOS 6.0.2 if you are still holding out hope for a jailbreak solution for iOS 6.0.1.

At the moment there is no untethered iOS 6 and iPhone 5 jailbreak available but you will probably find lots of fake jailbreak tools on the market so we advise you to avoid these at all costs. Until one of the respected jailbreak developers actually approves a jailbreak don't be fooled into buying anything. If you see a jailbreak release for iOS 6 be sure to check back with us because if it is legitimate we will have it covered here.

If you are one of the many that owns a pre A5 device such as the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 4G, you can still get a tethered jailbreak using Redsn0w or Sn0wbreeze but for anyone with an A5 device we are afraid there is no good news to report and we suspect that we won't have a jailbreak for iOS 6 until after iOS 6.1 is released.

Cycloramic For iPhone Lets Users Capture 360 Degree Panoramic Videos Hands Free

Every so often we see an app for the iPhone that everyone wants to own. Well one of those apps has arrived and it's called Cycloramic. This app allows iPhone 5 users to capture a street view type of video of their surroundings without even touching their device. This is an app that is going to be very entertaining at parties and social gatherings.

Cycloramic has been designed with the iPhone 5 in mind and is actually quite unique. It requires iOS 6 to function and it will open and run on the iPhone 4 or 4S even though it has been developed with the lighter form factor and new vibrating motor of the iPhone 5 in mind. The feature set of the app requires that your device be standing vertically unaided so it won't work with any of the iPod touch models.

The Cycloramic app allows users to use either the front facing or rear camera to capture 360 degree views of their surroundings and then have the footage stored on the device's camera roll in the form of a short video. The app does all this without any interaction from the user after the initial capture instruction. Standing the iPhone 5 upright on a smooth hard surface and then tapping GO makes the device vibrate at a certain frequency to rotate the phone and capture video as it goes.

All you have to do is install the app, launch it and set your device on a hard polished surface before pressing go. This app is available for just $0.99 but at that price it is worth getting just to see how much fun you can have.

Ipad 5 To Be Released In March 2013

Apple want to bring the full sized iPad which has a 9.7 inch screen in line with their recently released iPad mini. To do this they are reportedly planning to announce and release a fifth generation of the iPad in March of 2013. This speculated release date is notable because it means that the next iPad will be released just five months after the current model was announced. This also means that Apple will have releaesed the third, fourth and fifth generation models in a 12 month period.

The fifth generation iPad information comes courtesy of Macotakara which is a Japanese blog which has been very active in the iPad prediction market over the past twelve months. They have also claimed that the fifth generation iPad will bring the device more in line with the aesthetics of the iPad mini by making it lighter and thinner as well as slightly changing the device's shell.

This rumor also seems to fall in line with speculations that Apple could be changing tactics in favor of a six monthly release cycle for the iPad rather than releasing new hardware every twelve months. It is unclear as to how consumers will feel about this though because it will mean that a new version of their device will be released every six months and it could lead to a dramatic fall in sales as consumers realize that their product will be outdated after just a couple of months of use.

In relation to the overall specifications fo the upcoming fifth generation iPad, there is no information available. It is likely that we will see an upgrade and major improvements to the iPad mini in the coming year with the introduction of a retina display and an improved processor ripped straight from the fourth generation iPad, but as yet we really don't know.

For now, this is all the information we have received but we are sure that once the new year arrives the rumor mill will begin and information will start to become available.

Facebook Poke App For iPhone Is Number One On iTunes Chart

The brand new Facebook Poke app has taken the App Store by storm and in less than a day it took the number one spot at the top of the iTunes free app chart. The Facebook Poke app is essentially a chat app with a few twists was only just released for the iPhone and has already become the most popular free app on the App Store.

Facebook seem to have really been on form lately with their releases and they have been creating very solid clean apps of late. Facebook seem very keen to dissect their services into seperate entities. We already have the Facebook Messenger app and the Facebook Camera app so not the arrival of the Facebook Poke app seems to confirm this.

Of course it is the perfect time for Facebook and the likes of Google to be releasing apps so that they can take advantage of the holiday season and see an increase in downloads during this period. At this time of the year, more and more people are contacting family and friends so Facebook have really struck while the iron is hot with the release of the Facebook Poke app. As well as this, lots of people will be receiving brand new iOS devices and they will be looking for content to fill their home screen and this will involve them checking out the top apps section on the app store. The vast majority of people will probably download the Facebook Poke app just to see what it is and of course once they do this they will probably like us here be very impressed with its seamless nature.

Facebook has over a billion users so it is easy to see why there apps are important and very popular. It will be good to see whether the Facebook Poke app will stand the test of time and remain at the top spot for more than a couple of days. If you do want to try out the app then why not head over to the app store today and take a look.

Imo Messenger For iPad Now Updated

The imo Messenger for iPad has been updated. Its newly improved features include revamped UI, VoIP calling, group photo sharing and more. Imo Messenger can be compared to the WhatsApp Messenger app for mobile devices but that would infact be selling it a little short. Imo Messenger does a lot more than just allow for instant messaging thanks to the implementation of VoIP calling.

Imo Messenger allows users to engage in high quality voice calls, group messaging, photo sharing, voice clip sharing and it supports a wide range of chat clients including Facebook Chat, Google Talk, Skype, MSN, ICQ, AIM, Yahoo Messenger, Jabber, Hyves, Vkontakte and Steam. This app also sends notifications up to a week after you close it and it supports multiple sessions across different devices.

With the new update, the interface for this app has been given a facelife. Having reached version 2.0, this app really has matured and in our opinion looks great. It is a very solid, well functioning app that has some great new and exciting features. In our opinion, imo messanger is one of the best options for those of you out there who are looking to IM and chat on their iPad. It is available free of charge and requires that you have an iPad running on iOS 4.3 or higher.

Jailbreak iOS 6.1 Beta 4 On iPhone Using Redsn0w

As is the case with all beta releases of Apple software, this upgrade is only available to registered developers who are enrolled in the iOS development program. The good news that quite often comes with these beta releases is that those same developers can also enjoy a tethered jailbreak and for iOS 6.1 beta 4 this tethered jailbreak comes thanks to Redsn0w.

This latest iOS 6.1 beta 4 release can be jailbroken using Redsn0w and will immediately be of benefit to those who have installed or are planning to install the update on their A4 device or older. Compatible devices for this tethered jailbreak include the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and the fourth generation iPod touch. All of these devices are susceptilbe to the Limera1n exploit. Those who own the iPhone 5 or fifth generation iPod touch will have to wait until the dev teams come up with a solution that will provide a tethered or untethered jailbreak.

Althought a large number of people have already upgraded their iOS devices to an iteration that is not currently supported by this jailbreak, it is always nice to know that those who are clutching onto older Apple hardware will always have at least a tethered jailbreak solution no matter what. This is all thanks to the historical bootrom exploit which Apple cannot patch due to its hardware nature.

Redsn0w hasn't released an official update for this fourth beta release, but if you point the software to the older 6.0 firmware file it will still work for this latest beta version. We have to point out, that Redsn0w will only provide a tethered jailbreak for A4 devices and this means that all compatible devices that are jailbroken on iOS 6.1 beta 4 will need to be connected to your PC or Mac and have Redsn0w run again to reboot them into a jailbroken state if they ever power down.

Download iOS 6.1 Beta 4 For Developers Now

Apple's iOS 6 has promised so much but the initial release hasn't gone as smoothly as expected. First off we had a problem with the native Maps app which was meant to replace Google Maps. This has caused a lot of problems and has been revised and re-released in the App store last week. IOS 6.1 Beta 4 has now been released to developers.

The first beta release of iOS 6.1 came at the beginning of last month and many improvements have been made behind the scenes. If you are a developer you can now download this version from Apple's Developer Program.

The easiest way to apply this new update is by taking the OTA via settings. This will of course only show up if you are a developer running a prior iOS 6.1 beta. As well as the release of iOS 6.1 Beta 4, Apple has also seeded an updated preview of Xcode 4.6. The development enviromnent for iOS SDK makes tailoring apps for the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch a great deal easier. As well as this, a new Apple TV beta has also been released to developers.

These early beta builds usually start to appear on various different channels not long after they have been seeded. We do recommend avoid these and advise that you take the legitimate route in signing up as a developer. It doesn't cost that much and it allows you to view all the pre-release software from Apple including iOS, iTunes and some other goodies too.

For the end user out there reading this post, iOS 6.1 is expect to be released to the public sometime in January 2013 and will have improvement to the Maps app and much more. Passbook is also expected to offer a more streamlined experience when dealing with boarding passing. There have been plenty of bug fixes too. We will of course keep you updated on what to expect with iOS 6.1 and as soon as it is released we will give you all the details.

Enjoy The iOS 6 Experience on iPhone 3G With Whited00r 6

If you are one of the many who find it difficult and too expensive to keep up with the latest iPhone releases then this post is for you. Most iPhone users have one of the older devices. Whited00r has given these older devices a freshen up by offering a utility that makes the older devices appear as if they are running on the newer firmware. Whited00r has now been updated for iOS 6.

You probably already know that iOS 6 only reaches back as far as the iPhone 3GS but there are plenty of people who still have the older iPhone 2G and 3G as well as the older iPod Touch. Whited00r for iOS 5 came earlier this year allowing all those people to install portions of iOS 5 onto their older devices. The newly updated utility offers a couple of great features.

The notification center is available and a replica of Apple's iCloud service. If you are stuck with an older device you can now use this iOS 6 lookalike firmware which is available at the official Whited00r website. You will need to have a jailbroken device before you can use the newly updated version of Whited00r but once you have that sorted you are ready to go.

Next iOS Software Update Will See Apple TV Set Receive External Bluetooth Keyboard Support

Many people have assumed that the Apple TV unit was merely just a hobby for Apple and that is doesn't take away their focus from their important products such as the iPhone and the iPad. It does seem thought that Apple are paying more attention to this little black set top box and this is going to become even more evident with the next iOS update. The next iOS software update is going to see the addition of Bluetooth support for the Apple TV set top box.

It was almost twelve months ago when the code for this was discovered in the Apple TV iOS code base and this alerted us to the fact that Apple was planning on adding support to allow users to connect Bluetooth devices to the Apple TV. It now seems that this is about to become a reality. The lastest beta release of iOS for the Apple TV brings with it a dedicated Bluetooth menu that wasn't in previous releases. It also allows users to connect Bluetooth enabled wireless keyboards directly to the unit which negates the need for using the infrared controller.

When you take into consideration that a lot of Apple TV owners also own a Mac and will have one of Apple's official Bluetooth wireless keyboards, it comes as a very welcome surprize to see official connectivity support coming in the next release of iOS for the device. Now rather than having to fiddle with the small silver remote that comes with the Apple TV, users will be able to use the navigation keys on the keyboard to whizz through the menu. More importantly though, they will be able to type directly on the keyboard for text entry rather than having to rely on the software based keyword or using the Apple Remote app from an iOS device.

Early testing of the iOS beta for the Apple TV has shown the Apple has only added the ability to pair Bluetooth keyboards with the unit and it doesn't allow the connect from bluetooth speakers or headphones. We don't yet know if Apple plan to open the Bluetooth protocol up to additional devices or whether they want to keep it only for their wireless keyboards. Either way though, we see it as a step in the right direction and as welcome news for all Apple TV owners.

How To Fix Purple Haze Problem On iPhone 5 Camera

More and more people have been reporting an issue with purple haze on the new iPhone 5 camera. Whilst this camera has only been moderately improved with the new iPhone 5, this issue has been causing problems for many. Apple initially claimed that users were holding their devices incorrectly when taking pictures but this doesn't seem to be the case.

Case makers have attempted to amend the issued and the CamHoodie did a pretty good job of removing the purple mist. The App Store developers are now trying their hand at sorting the problem too. This comes in the form of the Camera Fix which is a cheap solution for those looking to reduce the appearance of this purple haze when pictures are taken at a certain angle. This little fix costs $0.99 at the App Store and claims to be the first app to solve the purple mist problem on photos.

Now what we do have to point out is that this App doesn't actually fix the root cause of the purple haze problem but instead it tries to make your pictures look as those they haven't been affected by the haze. This does mean that the coloring of your pictures can sometimes be quite a bit off, but I suppose you could say, that it does what it says it will do.

Apple has pointed out that the issue is for the most part unavoidable and most people will just have to live with it. They have said that users should try not to take shots into or angled towards bright light. It is the light that reflects off your iPhone's camera modules and causes this dusty layer. You will need to practice a little bit of trial and error to see what the best position for taking your photos is.

Still, to sum up, what we can say is that Camera Fix does a reasonable job and is available at just $0.99 from the App Store if the purple haze is getting too much for you to bare.

Untethered Jailbreak iOS 6 and iPhone 5 Update

Everyone is still waiting anxiously for the release of an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 and the iPhone 5/4S iPad mini and iPad 4. Today we decided to give you a progress overview so that you know exactly what is happening and who is working on what. The estimated arrival time of this long overdue jailbreak is still unknown but hopefully we will have some great news and possibly a public release before Christmas.

As you know, everyone in the jailbreak development community is hard at work on an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 and the iPhone 5. iPhone Dev Team member @planetbeing is working hard and he tweeted a photo of his progress about 3 weeks ago, but since then he has been very quiet on Twitter.

@pod2g spoke about his work with the jailbreak for iOS 6 at the panel conversation in Malaysia. He and @planetbeing have actually split the work between them. @pod2g is working on a userland exploit and @planetbeing is working on kernel exploits. We are still waiting on an update from both.

@p0sininja has been working on getting the encryption codes for iBoot, which could ultimately be the key to dumping the BootROM. A bootROM dump hasn't been achieved for some years now but if it is, it would make untethered jailbreaks for future devices and iOS updates much easier to obtain. The time frame for a release is very vague but @p0sixninja does have other people working with him on fuzzing for bugs and crashes.

You are probably aware that numerous teams and videos of jailbreaks on iPhone 5, iPhone 4S and other non-jailbroken devices have popped up on the internet over the past couple of weeks but most of these have turned out to be fake. There are also websites that report to have jailbreak solutions for the iPhone 5 but we warn everyone to be wary of these. These fake websites are cashing in on those who are growing impatient waiting for the iPhone 5 jailbreak.

A jailbreak solution for the iPhone 5 and iOS 6 is being worked on and as soon as something concrete has been achieved we will let you know. Until then, we will continue to update everyone on the progress that is being made and if you are following any of the dev team on Twitter just keep an eye on their updates and these are the people that can be trusted.

Is An Untethered iPhone 5 Jailbreak Almost Here?

New hope for an iOS 6 untethered iPhone 5 jailbreak has arrived in the form of a new video on YouTube. As you know, the iPhone 5 and iOS 6 operating system is now two month old and as yet there is still no untethered jailbreak. We all know that the jailbreaking teams are working hard to find a solution and today we want to add a little bit of hope.

This new hope has come in the form of a video that has emerged and hopefully this will be the iPhone 5 jailbreak and iOS 6 untethered jailbreak we have all been anxiously waiting for. This video comes from the @ArDevTeam who are hinting of an upcoming jailbreak. The video shows the loading of Cydia which as we know is only available with a jailbreak. This could be the proof that we have all been waiting for that an iOS 6 untethered jailbreak will be available for the iPhone 5, iPhone 4S and the iPad 3.

The person who uploaded the video is the founder of the ARB Dev Team and according to their Twitter profile they are an iOS and OSX development team. You like many others have probably never heard of them but if their video is the real deal then it means that an iPhone 5 jailbreak is getting a lot closer. The ARB Dev Team have tweeted stating that the jailbreak is tethered for the A6 chip so this video could actually be showing an iPhone 5 jailbreak. Have a look at the video yourself and let us know what you think.

Chrome For iOS Updated With iOS 6 Passbook Support And More

The Chrome browser by Google has become the most popular choice for surfers worldwide and it's android version has always been very solid from the word go. This amazing web browser has now been brought to iOS and is available on the iPad and iPhone despite Apple's restrictions on developers bringing their own engines to the iOS fold.

Chrome for iOS has been updated with more and more updates arriving since its initial release. We are now at version 23 and this brings support for iOS 6's Passbook feature. Also included in the update is the ability to open PDFs in external PDF reading/editing apps and text encoding. There are a few other small tweaks and adjustments too.

Any bugs that were lingering from the previous version have now been sorted out and if you have upgraded your firmware to version iOS 6, the Passbook feature looks to the the clincher for this web browser. If you are running on Chrome, you can save your boarding passes effortlessly, but if you are still running on iOS 5 or earlier you will just have to make do with the ability to open PDF files in alternative apps.

Due to the increase in e-books and their popularity, we have seen a rise in the number of powerful apps that have been created that allow users to create, edit and read PDF files so it is great to see that Google have adapted its browser in accordance. If you are still using the stock browser that comes with iOS which is Safari you might want to take a look at Google Chrome and see what it can do for you. We promise you won't be disappointed.

Add A 14 Megapixel To Your iPhone 5 With Will.i.am

Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas has created a new iPhone 5 camera accessory that will add a 14 Megapixel camera to your existing iPhone 5 8 megapixel camera. It may seem a little odd to add a camera to a camara but if you aren't happy with the 8 megapixel camera that comes with the iPhone 5 then this could be for you.

With the iPhone 5, Apple increased the camera's image quality but they left the camera itself at 8 megapixels. If you're not happy with this you can check out Will.i.am's iPhone accessory that will add a 14 megapixel camera on top of your existing 8 megapixel sensor. It is promising better performance, better photo and better video quality. It is being dubbed as the i.am+ camera and it actually resembles a classic Leica camera. What is really is, is an iPhone case with a seperate 14 megapixel sensor and flash but it is still unclear as to whether the lighting technology used on it is xenon or LED. The i.am+ camera takes advantage of the iPhone's 30-pin/lightning dock connector.

Will.i.am said we have our own sensor and a better flash. You dock your phone into our device and it turns your smartphone into a genius-phone. We take over the camera. This was in a interview with The Daily Telegraph. Will.i.am is well loved by the science community and his i.am+ camera series is set to launch in London on the 28th of November.

Apple Products Top X-Mas Lists

Over the past number of years we have seen a steady increase in the number of gadgets being added to children's Christmas lists and this year is no exception. According to a recent study by Nielsen, kids this year are looking for Apple products. Over the past number of years it has become clear that American children between the ages of six and twelve are looking for Apple products with more than half looking for an iPad.

Just reading the study, it seems that most of these kids understand product specifications and whilst 50% of those surveyed wanted the full size Apple iPad, only 36% wanted the iPad mini. Even kids want the high end specs such as the Retina Display and A6X processor or perhaps they just prefer the iPad because it is bigger and as always with kids, the bigger the better right.

The fifty percent looking for the iPad this year is a rise from 44% last year. The iPod touch is something that also shows up really well for this age bracket. This is because kids can use it to play games and that is what kids want. Many adults viewed the iPod touch as an iPhone without the phone part but most adults are not going to shell out for an iphone for their children to play games or listen to music and this is where the iPod touch comes in.

While Apple maybe dominating in the mobile devices, plenty of kids are still keeping an eye out for the consoles with 39% of them looking forward to receiving a Nintendo Wii U. 29% are looking for one of the DS variants while a quarter of kids want an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. Whatever way you look at it, the results show that technology and gadgets seem to be replacing board games and what we adults once referred to as toys.

YouTube iPhone 5 Update Is On The Way

Despite the huge success of the iPhone 5, it really is getting very hard to ignore the fact that certain staple apps have been in need of an update for far too long now. If you are one of those who bought an iPhone 5 you might be disappointed to say the least, that many of the apps still haven't been updated. The YouTube app is one of these and Google has stated that an update is nearly ready.

Google has revealed that an update for the YouTube app is in the works for the iPhone 5 and this will see some improvements and also make it compatible with the iPhone 5's 4 inch display. The last update was in September but the YouTube app was removed as an out of the box application from the iPhone 5. Google has confirmed that they are looking to update their app but they haven't given a timeframe for its release.

Despite the success of the iPhone 5, there have been a number of popular app that have been slow to react to the new iPhone 5's 4 inch display but many of these companies have indicated that they are working on updates. For those of you who love YouTube and want to experience it on the iPhone 5's bigger display you will be happy to know that you won't have to wait much longer.

Lightning Compatible Accessories For iPhone 5 Now Being Made Available

When Apple launched the new iPhone 5 they changed the old 31-pin connector dock to the new lightning connector and this made all existing accessories obsolete. It has take Apple quite some time to approve some third party accessories for the new iPhone 5 lightning connector but we are happy to announce that they have now arrived.

If you own an iPhone 5 with the new lightning connector you will be delighted to hear that you can now get speakers, car chargers and more. Apple has been very picky about who is going to be able to manufacture approved accessories. In September, Apple highlight several vendors and all of these should have speakers and more available soon.

In terms of speakers for the iPhone 5 the smallest by JBL called the OnBeat Micro is a desk to size speaker that will sell for $100. They are also producing the JBL OnBeat Venue Lightning which is for more than just the iPhone 5. It can fit any lightning ready iOS device that Apple sells including the iPad, iPad Mini, iPod touch and iPod nano. This speaker will sell for $200.

Earlier this month, Belkin, which has been very popular when it comes to iOS accessories announced their official line up of Lightning connector ready products. For just $30 you can get a charger and a Charge + Sync Dock. The dock should prove really popular as this is the first iPhone that Apple decided not to include an official dock for.

We're sure to see a lot more accessories in the coming weeks and months and as we recieve news and information about them we will be sure to post it here.

Jailbreak iOS 6.1 Beta 2 Tethered Using Redsn0w 0.9.15b3

We have been doing our best to keep everyone up to date with as much information as we can source regarding an untethered iOS 6 and iOS 6.1 jailbreak for the iPhone 5. So far this jailbreak has failed to materialise but we do know that the dev teams are hard at work. Today we want to tell you about jailbreaking iOS 6.1 beta 2 using Redsn0w 0.9.15b3. We also have to point out that this is a tethered jailbreak solution.

Apple released iOS 6.1 beta 2 to developers earlier this week. We already know that the Sn0wBreeze 2.9.7 tool can jailbreak iOS 6 and iOS 6.0.1 but now iDownloadBlog are reporting that developers can jailbreak iOS 6.1 beta 2 using Redsn0w 0.9.15b3. This is a tethered jailbreak which means that the process has to be repeated every time the device is rebooted.

This is more great news for the Dev Team who are working tirelessly on an untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 5 and hopefully it will give them some more clues and help them to discover even more exploits that Apple haven't yet patched. It seems to be a long wait for the iPhone 5 jailbreak but like all idevice owners we here really do appreciate all the hard work they have been doing. If you follow any of the main jailbreaking crew on Twitter you will be aware that they are doing all they can and they hope like everyone else to have an untethered iPhone 5 jailbreak available for public release as soon as possible.

Until then, we will do our best to keep you updated and bring you the information as we get it. If you have a developer account and you want to use the Redsn0w jailbreak, it is avaialble now.

iOS 6 Untethered Jailbreak For iPhone 5 Update

There seems to be growing criticim over the slow release of a jailbreak for iPhone 5, 4S and the iPad mini and members of the Chronic Dev Team and the iPhone Dev Team are responding to it. Back in September when iOS 6 was first released jailbreak fans were excited to see that the Chronic Dev Team and the iPhone Dev team were in action working on an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6. This has however turned into a roller-coaster ride and we have all watched and waited for the iOS 6 untethered jailbreak that still hasn't arrived.

Initially things looked really promising as just a couple of hours after the release of the iPhone 5, developer Grant Paul posted a photo on Twitter of the iPhone 5 running Cydia. This photo made us all feel great and we expected things to be the same as befoe with an iOS untethered jailbreak being released just a week or so after the device release. This hasn't been the case so far and as time went by we realised this wasn't going to be as easy as we thought. When no further developments were being posted, those waiting for a jailbreak solution began to pester @Pod2g on twitter and his page was flooded with questions about when the iOS 6 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 5 would be released. He responded on Twitter saying, every iOS 6 jailbreak request should go to @joshmtucker who is heavily working on it at the moment. This was a joke but it showed the pressure the team was under trying to release a jailbreak for iPhone 5.

At the JailbreakCon 2012, Pod2g took the stage to let conference attenders know that the iPhone 5 running Cydia was a failbreak meaning that is was for developers only and nowhere near ready for release. This still gave us hope that a jailbreak was being worked on. Work has continued and the iPhone Dev Team have continued to provide updates for Redsn0w which allows users to return back to their previous 5x jailbreaks with saved SHSH blobs, as well as an iOS 6 jailbreak for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4.

Planetbeing gave us more hope when he tweeted happily about exploits that had been discovered and a nearly tethered jailbreak for iPhone 5. We all waited but so far we haven't heard anymore about the progress on an iOS 6 untethered jailbreak. We have seen photos of failbreaks on Twitter but this doesn't help and bitter A5 and A6 device users are missing the joys of Cydia and all its tweaks.

Those looking for an untethered iOS 6 jailbreak for iPhone 5 are getting a little frustrated and now that it is nearly two months since the release of iOS 6 and the iPhone 5 and still no untethered jailbreak insight many are being to wonder if it is indeed possible. We do know however that when the iOS 6 and iOS 6.0.1 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 5, iPhone 4S and other devices is released we will all know about it and the real celebrations can begin. Until then we like everyone else just have to wait and be patient. It will come.

Untethered iPhone 5 Jailbreak For iOS 6

As many of you know, iOS 6.0.1 arrived the very same day that the iPhone Dev Team released Redsn0w 0.9.15b3. But what does this mean? People everywhere are anxiously awaiting the release of an untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S running iOS 6 and many people have upgraded their devices to iOS 6 only to discover that they couldn't go back if their SHSH blobs were not saved.

The iOS jailbreak is still evading the iPhone Dev Team and the Chronic Dev Team and it makes us wonder if Apple has done too good a job in patching up vulnerabilities that were discovered in earlier updates.

This might not be the case and the web was a buzz again when the iPhone Dev Team released their latest version of Redsn0w 0.9.15b3 with some nice fixes for errors like 2601 that Windows users were seeing when using the restore button. This update also fixes a related Windows iTunes error 14 for stitched files. The very same day, it was reported that A4 device owners could now jailbreak iOS 6.0.1 using Redsn0w.

People still wanted more though and many wanted to know why even a tethered iPhone 5 jailbreak couldn't be released. We thought that perhaps they were waiting for iOS 6.0.1 to arrive so that the likes of PlanetBeing could see how many of their discovered exploits were patched up. It seems that we were correct because on the 1st of November @mdowd took to twitter to say he was downloading iOS 6.0.1 and was going to check if they patched the copyin() bug.

If you have been following everything on Twitter carefully you probably already know that PlanetBeing tweeted last month that he held 3 exploits for the iOS 6 system and he had a working tethered jailbreak. When he was asked why he wouldn't release it, he said that he was holding on to the exploits in hopes of using them for an untethered jailbreak. If iOS 6.0.1 has patched up these exploits it will mean that PlanetBeing and other members of the Dream Team are now back to square one.

If these exploits and vulnerabilities haven't been patched in the iOS 6.0.1 update then we can be sure that the jailbreak teams will move forward and try to achieve an untethered jailbreak solution. If they have been patched they will continue working on iOS 6 and possibly release a tethered jaillbreak for iPhone 5 and 4S users.

The tricky decision for iPhone users is whether to upgrade or not. If you decide to upgrade to iOS 6.0.1 and a tethered jailbreak is released for iOS 6 you might not be able to use it. The reason for this is that there was only a very small window of time for people to save their iOS 6 SHSH blobs and they are now no longer retrievable. MuscleNerd did mention on Twitter that he recommend that people stay at iOS 6.0 for the moment and if he is saying it there must be a good reason why. Perhaps an untethered iOS 6 jailbreak for iPhone 5 and other devices with A5 chips really is on the cards and may just be released sooner than we think.

Jailbreak iOS 6.0.1 On iPad 4

The brand new iPad mini was jailbroken by developer and iOS hacker Chpwn and he has now revealed that the next generation iPad 4 has also been jailbroken. This comes just a matter of days after its release and both tablets only went on sale in the last couple of weeks.

Although the jailbreak method that has been used to jailbreak iPhone 5, the iPad mini and the iPad 4 is a developer only release, it still does pave the way for future jailbreaks which will be made available to the public. It also means that an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 could be on the way too.

Chpwn has seemingly used the exact same method that he used to jailbreak the iPad mini and it has worked on the new iPad 4 too. He announced it on Twitter that he has accomplished yet another successful jailbreak on iOS 6. He tweeted the following message along with a screenshot of Cydia running on the jailbroken iPad 4.

It doesn't look any different than on the iPad 3, but here's Cydia running on the iPad 4

Chpwn points out that Cydia looks exactly the same on the iPad 4 as it did on its predecessor but that really doesn't matter. The significant progress that has been made with the iPad 4 jailbreak is that it has been upgraded with a kernel exploit which is being credited to PlanetBeing and this makes it possible to jailbreak iOS 6 on the new A6X chip. The screenshot provided by Chpwn also show the jailbroken iPad 4 is running iOS 6.0.1 that was only released last week.

Now that the iPhone 5 and both the new iPads have been jailbroken, the iPhone Dev team really do have a headstart in developing a public release of an untethered jailbreak for these iOS devices. At the moment, the tethered jailbreak is only possible on the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 4G running iOS 6.0.1 and iOS 6.0. We still don't know how long it will take before an untethered jailbreak is avaialble that is compatible with all iOS devices.

Unlock iOS 6.0.1 With Ultrasn0w

If you are running the new iOS 6.0.1 which was released by Apple last week and you want to maintain your carrier unlock, you will be delighted to hear that Ultrasn0w fixer has been updated to support this new firmware.

There arent that many changes to the new iOS 6.0.1 so if you have been using Ultrasn0w for a long time and you are used to jumping through hoops every time Apple releases an update then you might want to hold off upgrading your firmware until Apple releases something with a few more changes. That being said, bug fixes are bug fixes and if you are one of those people who likes to keep everything up to date, you will be happy to know that you can still maintain your unlock using Ultrasn0w.

In an ideal world there would be no need for carrier unlocks but unfortunately we dont live in an ideal world and many of us have to do it ourselves. Unlocking your idevice gives you the freedom to choose the carrier you want and this is why Ultrasn0w has become a lifesaver to many. If you have preserved your old and unlockable baseband you will be able to use Ultrasn0w to maintain your carrier unlock. If you havent preserved and saved your basebands you could just be out of luck. The updates for Ultrasn0w are still coming in with every update Apple makes so it looks like this tool wont be dying anytime soon. If you have upgraded to iOS 6.0.1 and you want to keep your device unlocked you can download the new Ultrasn0w now.

Jailbreak iOS 6.1 Tethered With Redsn0w

Apple released iOS 6.1 beta 1 to developers earlier today. This means that only registered members of the iOS Dev Center can access it. If you are one of the many iOS developers who develop tweaks and apps for Cydia you might be interesed to know that there is a tethered jailbreak available for iOS 6.1 beta 1 using Redsn0w.

Even though it has only been released today, it seems that iOS 6.1 can be jailbroken using the latest version of Redsn0w. This is the same method that was used to jailbreak iOS 6.0.1 and it is working on this latest release too. Like most other early jailbreaks, this is a tethered jailbreak for now. This jailbreak is compatible with pre-A5 limera1nable devices such as the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch. All the newer devices such as the iPad mini, iPads, iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S cant use it. The Dev Teams are hard at work looking to produce an untethered jailbreak for all devices but as yet we have no update on when this will happen.

If you do want to jailbreak iOS 6.1 beta tethered using Redsn0w all you have to do is download iOS 6.1 beta 1 from the iOS Dev Centre and update your device. Next you will have to download and run the latest version of Redsn0w which is 0.9.15b3. Go to Extras and select IPSW option to manually point Redsn0w to the original iOS 6 file. From the main screen of Redsn0w, simply click on jailbreak followed by Next to select Cydia. Put your device into DFU mode and thats about it. Redsn0w will now automatically inject your device with the Limera1n exploit to jailbreak and install Cydia on it. Once completed you have to select Autoboot this device when it connects in DFU mode to restart the device in tethered boot mode.

As this is a tethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1, you will have to reboot your device into tethered mode in order to run Cydia and other jailbreak related apps whenever your device loses power. Once again, this is only for developers and not for the general public as yet.

Jailbreaking Your iPad Is Now Illegal

If you want to play old school games on your iPad you can still do it but now, you will in fact be breaking the law. This is because under new rules that were issued by the U.S. government, jailbreaking the iPad is now a violation of Digital Millennium Copyright Act. This came into law on the 28th of October 2012.

You will remember back in 2010 iPhone owners breathed a sigh of relief when it was ruled that jailbreaking smartphones was perfectly legal under the DMCA. This is still the case but the updated list of exemptions explicitly excludes tablets, a category of devices that the government found to be too broad and ill-defined to allow their owners free reign when using them. So from now, it is illegal to jailbreak the iPad or any other tablet device.4

This really doesnt make any sense. You are free to jailbreak your iPhone but you cant run the same jailbreaking tool on a larger device running the same operating system. You can access Cydia on your iPhone but you cant do it on a screen that is a few inches bigger. It really is bizarre and staring from January 2013, it will be illegal to unlock new smartphones for the purpose of switching carriers. Unlocking older devices will still be fine though.

When the news of this broke iOS jailbreak developer MuscleNerd expressed concern about it on Twitter. He stated that unlocking is no longer an explicit DMCA exemption, neither is jailbreaking iPads. No exemption = illegal. We are sure that developers like MuscleNerd are not happy about this news because it means they will have to be a lot more cautious about building new jailbreak tools for iOS. Tools like Redsn0w will still be able to jailbreak iPhones but the developers may have to add something to ensure that they wont work on iPads or include some fine print about using them on iPads.

An untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 hasnt yet been released so we will have to wait and see if these new laws will have any impact on what the jailbreak community is working on.

Untethered Jailbreak iPhone 5 Nearly Here But Theres A Catch

Since the launch of the iPhone 5 everyone has been waiting for news of a jailbreak and we have all realized that this is not going to be as easy as before. The iPhone 5 has a brand new chip and operating system and so far the Dev Team has been stumped. Planetbeing, a member of the Chronic Dev Team has however given iPhone 5 users a ray of hope. He says that he has almost figured out a full tethered jailbreak for the iPhone 5.

From this tethered iphone 5 jailbreak there will come an untethered iphone 5 jailbreak but the problem is, it can only be run from a developer account. Planetbeing said on Twitter that he upgraded the #failbreak with a kernel exploit so tweaks actually work in the iPhone 5. Almost a full tethered jailbreak but you need a dev account. There were a few retweets to this comment replied saying that he is still working on it. You can view all the tweets by following @planetbeing.

It may sound great and give iPhone 5 users some hope but sadly the words need dev account pose a catch. There are often unusable jailbreak techniques that Apple Developers can use but these jailbreaks cannot be rolled out to the masses. In the best case scenario this dev-only untethered jailbreak will open the door for untethered jailbreaks for everyone and allow Cydia developers to update their tweaks accordingly.

For those of you waiting for an iPhone 5 jailbreak, it means you will have to hold on a little longer. It is great to hear that the Dev Team are still working on bringing an iPhone 5 jailbreak solution to us but for now we just have to wait until it becomes available. As always we will keep you updated as things transpire.

Apple Event Round Up Including The iPad Mini

The Apple media event which took place in San Jose did as we all anticipated include the iPad min, a tweaked Mac mini, the iMac, a 13 inch MacBook Pro with retina display, an update to iBooks and some alterations to the third generation iPad.

The event kicked off with Apple CEO Tim Cook giving shareholders an update on how much the company has achieved in the last month. Then Phil Schiller and Tim Cook took it in turns to officially reveal the new Apple fruits.

The first announcement was a new version of iBooks. There were no real significant changes. iBooks now features continuous scrolling in between pages for easier reading, better iCloud support and social sharing features. This is not really the kind of update we were expecting but at least it was something.

The 13 inch MacBook Pro with Retina display was next and it offers those looking for a thinner, lighter notebook the chance to purchase a high end product in a smaller size. This new model comes with a price tag of $1699 which is $500 cheaper than the 15 inch edition. The Mac mini was next and this features intels newest Ivy Bridge processor along with four USB 3.0 ports. There is also a server edition offering up to 2TB of HDD space. The re-designed iMac was also unveiled and this is now just 5mm thick at its thinnest points around the edges. The optical drive is going but we are sure this wont be an issue with people.

Whilst the Mac alternatives were great, it wasnt the main reason everyone had tuned into this event. This event was always all about the iPad mini and when Schiller finally unveiled it to the world all doubts about this new device were put to rest. The iPad mini packs in the A5 processor, 729p 7.9 inch display and a bezel reflecting that of the iPod touch. It fits nicely into the hand too. The rumor of 12 different models turned out to be a little off but there is still plenty of variety for everyone. The 16GB iPad mini will retail at $329 so we dont think Apple are going to be dealing with massive demand just yet.

The last thing that was announced at this event is something that is a little controversial. Apple decided to give the iPad 3 a few changes. The new twice as fast A6X processor has been added along with better Wi-Fi, improved 4G LTE in European and Asian nations and the new lightning connector. A lot of talk has followed this update and many people seem to think that they have been ripped off. It has only been eight months since the launch of the third generation iPad and to have a fourth generation iPad announced so soon is ridiculous. What does everyone else think of this?

Apple To Announce iBooks 3.0 At Media Event On October 23rd

According to a iTunes leak, Apple is set to announce iBooks 3.0 at its Media Event tomorrow. This special media event is also expected to be the unveiling of the new iPad mini as well as a refresh of the Mac mini and iMac desktops.

With the launch of a smaller iPad, it really isnt surprising to find that Apple are going to tweak and improve their iBooks service especially when they are planning to drive home the education message in a bid to get more sales for the iPad mini too. The iPad has already played a big role in offering a more interactive education in many schools and learning facilities and with a smaller, cheaper version set to be launched more schools and children will be able to take advantage of this technology.

iBooks 2.0 was announced earlier this year and it came with digital textbook support. A current listing on Apples iTunes Store mentions iBooks 3.0 and with the media event scheduled for tomorrow we are sure that Tim Cook and his friends at Apple will be able to offer us further insight to this new version during the keynote speech.

Whilst the iPad is not considered to be a device for readings, the smaller iPad mini with a lower price tag might just be something that consumers will be willing to pick up and read on. The display of the new iPad mini is expected to have the same resolution as the iPad 2 which means it will a sharp look for the new iBooks will be used.

We have absolutely no idea as to what improvements have been made to iBooks 3.0 but we are speculating that it has been significantly altered from its current state. All will become clearer tomorrow and we will also have all the updated information with regards to the iPad mini, new iBooks and any other product that is mentioned.

Concepts For iPad Is A Great New Gesture Based Drawing App

Concepts for the iPad is a beautiful, unique and responsive gesture based drawing app that has just been released. One of the great things about the iPad 3 is that fact that artistic apps look fantastic on the high resolution display. The Concepts App from TopHatch is a perfect example.

This new app makes use of every pixel on the iPad allowing users to mockup unique and stunning creations directly on their device. The whole app is based around capturing the artistic nature that comes from freehand sketching and then combining it with the precision that comes with technical drafting. Most of the drawing apps offered for the iPad usually just offer a number of different pen types or brushes rather so Concepts really is unique and worth investing in.

This app has a very minimalistic toolbar that sits in a clean interface that has been designed to allow users to focus on what they are doing more so than being distracted by a clutter interface. It is also built around simple gestures that will allow users to hide or show the toolbar using simple swipes. The development team behind the Concepts app have done a great job in ensuring that all lines and strokes down are always smooth with vector based graphics and this makes everything you do look great even when you zoom right in.

As far as drawing apps go, Concepts comes with multiple pen types and sizes as well as a variety of ink colors. Users have the ability to create concept galleries that can be visualized in a side scrolling format. There is also an advanced eraser feature that makes it so easy to make changes. There is also a presentation based feature built in that allows galleries and concepts to be sent to an Apple TV on the same network using AirPlay technology.

Concepts is available from the App Store for iPads running iOS 5 or above and it is free of charge. There is also an option for an in-app to enable precision drawing mode which is available for $1.99.

Invites Sent For Apple Media Event On October 23rd

It is now official, Apple has sent out media invites for an event they are going to host on the 23rd of October. This event will be held in the California Theatre, San Jose. It is expected that Apple is going to announce their iPad Mini, a 13-inch MacBook Pro with retina display, a line up of iMacs and a brand new Mac mini.

We have been giving you all the reports and theories so far surrounding Apples iPad Mini and while many may have thought this was just a rumor, Apple have now announced a special event. Usually Apples keynotes are held at the Yerba Buena Centre for the Arts in San Francisco but this event is going to be held at the California Theatre in San Jose and this is the first official indication that the new iPad Mini will indeed be launching this month.

The iPad mini is expected to have a 7.85 inch display and we have also learned that there could be as many as twelve different configurations such as a Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G LTE offering in each of the 8, 16, 32 and 64GB storage capacities. There have over the past couple of months been various leaks of internal parts as well as a bunch of mock-ups which have given up plenty to speculate about. Apple are very good at covering things up though so dont be surprised if the new smaller iPad doesnt look anything like what we may have presumed.

When it comes to pricing, there have been speculations that it will cost between $249 and $299. This has yet to be confirmed and we will have to wait for the official announcement from Apple to see if the rumors were right. Apple will be holding a special event next Tuesday and everyone here is really excited about the prospect of the iPad mini finally making an appearance. We will keep you updated and bring you all the news as it transpires.

Unlock iOS 6 On iPhone 4 And 3GS Using Ultrasn0w Fixer

Apples iOS 6 is the latest offering in their firmware and there are plenty of dev-teams out there who are spending a lot of time looking for new loopholes and gaps that Apples security team may have missed. This comes in the form of jailbreak and unlocking. We are happy to say that if you have iOS 6 on an iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS you can unlock it using Ultrasn0w Fixer.

By unlocking your iPhone you will be able to use any SIM and you also get to bypass restrictions that may have been set by your carrier. If you are like many other iPhone users who have been preserving their baseband for unlocking purposes over the past couple of years, you will be more than familiar with Ultrasn0w Fixer which has now been updated for iOS 6.

Ultrasn0w Fixer for iOS 6 only works for the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS and it supports the following basebands:

 01.59.00 04.26.08 05.11.07 05.13.01 05.12.01 06.15.00

The official Ultrasn0w tool might be updated in the near future but for now this Fixer will work perfectly. Your iPhone running iOS 6 will have to be jailbroken to use this utility and at present there is only a tethered jailbreak available via Redsn0w. You also need to have preserved baseband. If you have all this, then just follow the steps below to unlock your iOS 6 iPhone.

Step 1: Launch Cydia and then hit Manage and then Sources.

Step 2: Add the iparelhos repository. You should already have this is you have re-added your sources from iOS 5, but if not, select Edit and Add and then type http://repo.iparelhos.com before hitting Add Source.

Step 3: Open the repo and browse to the Ultrasn0w Fixer for 6.0 utility. Tap the install button and let Cydia do the rest.

Step 4: Download the latest official iteration of Ultrasn0w from Cydia and install it.

You should now have an unlocked iOS 6 iPhone. You do have to make sure that you install the Fixer before you install the official Ultrasn0w utility otherwise this wont work.

iPad Mini To Be Launched At Apple Event On 23rd October

We have been watching for days now to see when Apple would be sending out invites to press members for their announcement event for the iPad Mini. A new report has stated that Apple will be holding this event on the 23rd of October which means we have less than two weeks to go.

This report comes from John Paczkowski from AllThingsD and he cites that Apple will be holding a special media event later this month and a smaller iPad will be revealed. Paczkowskis sources have always been reliable in the past so we are sure that this is the real deal too. There was no further information revealed except that it is believed that this event will be held at Town Hall Auditorium on the companys own campus in Cupertino, CA instead of Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.

Based on rumors, reports and the general speculation doing the rounds, the iPad Mini which most people are calling it is essentially going to be a smaller version of the iPad 2. It will most likely feature a dual-core A5 chip, have low resolution dual cameras and a 1024 x 768 display. The size of the display is what is going to be different and it suggested that the display size is going to be 7.85 inches.

At this size, the iPad mini will be in direct competition with the likes of the Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire HD. Apple does at present sell a cheaper $399 iPad 2 but this is still at least $200 above the price of these other tablets and therefore the new iPad Mini will have to retail around $249 to see strong sales results.

The launch of the new iPad Mini will see Apple following trends for the very first time instead of setting trends which is what they are usually known for. We still have to wait for the official launch on the 23rd October to see what we are really going to get with the new iPad Mini.

iPad Mini To Be Wi-Fi Only

According to the latest rumors, the iPad Mini is set to be Wi-Fi only at its launch and it has also seen some last minute design changes. Also if rumors are to be believed the current iPad is to get a minor refresh this month also.

It is being suggested that the new 7.85 inch iPad Mini will hit the market with a maximum price tag of $250 in a bid to compete directly with the Nexus 7 tablet from Google and Asus as well as Amazons new range of Kindle Fire devices. There has always been confusion as to why Apple would want to produce an iPad Mini when the iPad does so well and many think it is really just to satisfy the mid range market. According to reports, Apple are hoping to ship more than ten million of these new devices during the holiday season.

The standard 9.7 inch iPad ships with either a Wi-Fi only option or a Wi-Fi plus cellular option which is something that we might not see with the iPad Mini. According to a report from the Guardian, the new iPad Mini will come as a Wi-Fi only device meaning that users wont have the option of using a SIM card to connect to a cellular network for data on the move.

In addition to the new iPad Mini, we are also expecting Apple to ship an updated version of the current third generation iPad that bring 4G support for the United Kingdoms first 4G LTE network that will be operational at the end of this month.

If Apple is planning on holding a media event during October, invitations could be going out in the next day or two. This may or may not be the case however as Macotakara have suggested on their website that one of Apples official equipment manufactures has had to halt production of the new iPad Mini because of a last minute change in the design. We have no idea what this is but if an October launch is to be had we will find out very soon.

Lightning To 30-Pin Adapter For iPhone 5, iPod Touch And iPod Nano Now Available

When Apple launched the iPhone 5 they also changed the connector. This has been name Lightning. This decision hasnt been too popular with people who own lots of accessories such as speakers, car chargers, docks, etc that were made for the older 30-pin connector. The good news is that the Lightning to 30-pin adapter is now on sale.

Those of you who have order these adapters will be delighted to hear that they are now being shipped. This news comes from the people over at MacRumors in the form of a short post in which they cited that shipment notification emails have been sent to their readers stating that their orders have been shipped. Most of these readers are from Australia so for those in other regions the wait may be a little longer.

For those who you who havent ordered an adapter yet it is worth noting that there are in fact two types available. There is a rather bulky offering for $29 that does directly under your iPhone 5 and a nicer $39 unit that comes with a 0.2m cable that goes between the Lightning connector and the 30-pin port of the accessory you want to use. These new adapters are compatible with the iPhone 5, the fifth generation iPod touch and the seventh generation iPod Nano. The prices for these may seem a little on the high side but we are sure to see some third party adapters making it into the market soon for a much cheaper price.

The new connector really is here to stay and it has some advantages too. It is thinner, smaller and reversible so it can be connected anyway you want. We are sure to see more and more information about this new connector and there will be new accessories in the pipeline but for now an adapter is the only way to go.

Leaked iPad Mini Parts Show Nano SIM Support And More

Leaked iPad mini parts reveal that there will be an anodized metal black version, support for Nano SIM cards for 3G models and more. The rumor mill is back in full swing and UkrainianiPhone has released some images of the new iPad Mini that will likely get people talking.

We have already heard that the iPad Mini will be a great deal thinner than the Nexus 7 and that the invitations for the media event will go out on the 10th of October which means that event itself could be held around the 17th of October with the actual device launching a couple of weeks later. We are already in October and everything is getting quite real and these images make us even more aware of this.

Many of the details are still scarce but these images show that the iPad Mini will use the anodized aluminium material of the iPhone 5 and it is also thought that there will be a white and silver and a black and slate configuration. The new iPad Mini will of feature the Lightning dock connector.

The images made available at UkrainianiPhone also provide an insight into the 3G model that we are all anticipating which looks to be packing the new Nano SIM card but be warned, this is merely speculation based on the images. Googles Nexus 7 which launch earlier this year at around the same price bracket that Apple is reportedly pricing the iPad Mini at was Wi-Fi only so if Apple are going to offer cellular data as an option it will really widen the appeal of this device.

The iPad Mini is expected to come with a sharp display, front and rear cameras and according to a lot of reports has already gone into production over at Foxconns Brazilian plant. We will be sure to keep you updated on all things iPad Mini as we receive them so be sure to stay tuned.

Instagram Is Now Compatible With The iPhone 5 And iOS 6

Facebook are also the proud owners of the popular image sharing app Instagram and whilst this takeover resulted in some great new features, users have been left behind when it comes to iPhone 5 support. We are delighted to say however that the wait is over and the App Store is pushing out updates for those who have Instagram already installed on their devices.

If you are new to the world of photo sharing with Instagram, you can now go and get the app from the App Store free of charge with full iPhone 5 and iOS 6 support. This is fantastic news and as many of you know Instagram has taken the world by storm and is the worlds best photo sharing app.

The latest Instagram update adds in iPhone 5 support that extends the interface of the app so that it is compatible with the new larger display that the iPhone 5 ships with. As well as the iPhone 5 and iOS 6 updates, Instagram also has changes to the way new users are handled as well as making amendments to the process of recovering lost or forgotten passwords. This app enhancements and security fixes are also mentioned in the information on the App Store.

At a glance there doesnt look to be any visual or interface changes to the software other than adding extra pixels for iPhone 5 users but there is more and if you are a lover of Instagram and you have updated to the iPhone 5 or iOS 6 then you need to get your hands on this.

A lot of the popular and well known apps are now being updated to be fully compatible with the new iPhone 5 so we can expect to see a lot more updates being pushed out by the App Store in the coming weeks.

User Guide For The iPhone 5 Available On The iBookstore

The iPhone 5 was made available to the public last Friday and already in excess of five millions customers have purchased the device. The thing is, that the full user guide was included in the packaging. It was instead released online along with a user guide for those choosing to use iOS 6.

You might have expected to see this user guide made available immediately at the iBookstore but this wasn't the case and it took four days before the 155 page document was released on the iBookstore as a free download. In these four days many users will already have gotten to grips with the new smartphone and its accompanying software, and although there are quite a few updates in iOS 6 compared to iOS 5, it really isn't that hard to begin using it without the help of the user guide. The small fingertips user guide that comes packaged with the iPhone 5 is nowhere near sufficient and if you want to get the most out of your purchase and really get your money's worth it is a good idea to visit the iBookstore and search for iphone user guide for iOS 6.

In their release notes, Apple describes the iPhone User Guide as an essential part of any iPhone library but even so, they didn't think it was important enough to place in the box. This guide provides information on general iOS stuff along with giving users a stronger insight into the new features such as Passbook and the Maps app. Even if you are very comfortable using iOS 6 and your new iPhone 5, it might still be worth downloading this guide for future reference.

The iPhone 5 Has Been Jailbroken

The iPhone 5 was successfully jailbroken on the very day of its release. Respected iPhone developer chpwn tweeted a picture of his iPhone 5's homescreen which included the Cydia icon on it in full 1136 x 640 resolution. He confirmed that it is jailbroken in a reply on Twitter to another iPhone developer i0n1c.

Grant Paul aka chpwn tweeted that the taller screen of the iPhone 5 likes Cydia too and he enclosed a link to a picture of his homescreen. Stefan Esser aka i0n1c then asked him if he had just compiled Cydia on a Dev Phone to which he replied no jailbroken. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would suggest that the screenshop was created using Photoshop or that it was a bookmark decorated to look like the real deal but the jailbreak community has developed great respect for chpwn over the past couple of years and he defintely has the skills to pull something like this off.

It may not be ready for the primetime yet though, but this is definitely the start and we can expect to hear progress updates over the coming weeks as the jailbreak community and the development teams get to work on creating a jailbreak tool for the new iPhone 5. Last year you may remember that it took a couple of months for the untethered jailbreak to arrive and since we are now dealing with a device that is packing a brand new A6 processor it might take even longer this time around. This really is a great first step though and we will be following all the progress.

For those who aren't aware, there is already a tethered jailbreak available using Redsn0w for A4 based devices like the iPhone 4 and 3GS running the latest iOS 6. We will keep everyone updated on the progress of a jailbreaking tool for the iPhone 5.
